About Me

So, about me...

I am a stay-at-home-momma to 3 wonderful children.  I have been married to the funniest man ever since 2001.  Laughter is a constant in our home.  In my spare time I like to read, think about exercising, tackle small, easy DIY projects, avoid doing the laundry, watch a few tv shows with the hubby, and think about setting up my sewing machine so I can learn to use it.   All of this when I'm not chasing around a gorgeous 1 year old, learning about all the wrestlers and pokemon from my 9 year old and helping my 11 year old with her homework.  I love my life and I love that I have this wonderful hobby to record it all.

I started scrapbooking in the year 2000 (in the year 2000, excuse the Late Night reference).  It's hard to believe it's been 13 years since I found that box on clearance at Target.  Inside was a post bound book (without page protectors), a glue stick and some construction paper diecuts.  That's it.  That's what hooked me.

Since then, there have been ups and downs, but I've always come back to this hobby.  It is an equal mix of relaxing and frustrating, but I love it.  There is just something about having all these separate parts and pieces and combining them in just the right way to make something beautiful.  Something you want to show off.  Something you made with your own hands.  It's an art form.

As an art form, it is ever changing (which, as a Gemini, I love!!).  The pages I started out doing are so different than the ones I am creating today.  Although, I tend to look at them and cringe and want to re-do them, I won't.  The sentiment is the same even if they are a bit garish.  :)  I love how some people do a page and you can absolutely tell they did it.  Mine aren't so much like that.  My style can change from day to day and I think I kinda like that.  It's pretty much a gamble every time I start a project, but they usually turn out acceptable.  Mostly because, I know that my kids or their kids won't care that this paper didn't match exactly or that there isn't enough white space (or too much), they will care about the fact that I took the time to do it. That I took the time to put all my love down on this page for them to see and hopefully feel.
